Camping Season is almost here!

On Saturday and Sunday, John and I went to the Campground to get our Camper set-up for the Summer camping season. We ran into a small issue after changing campground lots, where we couldn't get our camper into the correct location with a tractor or our jeep. So to have room to park and pull out the canopy, John and his Dad decided that on Sunday they would use jacks and ratchet straps to pull the camper to the perfect location right in between the trees that are now located on each end of the camper. They ended up pulling the camper about 8 ft. I've included a few pictures of them working on this task.

Shane’s 5th Birthday

On Saturday, John and I went to our nephew Shane’s 5th Birthday Party at the Baseball Park. Here are a few of the pictures.

25 Weeks

Here is my 25 week belly picture.

Last week, I went for my 24 week check-up and everything still seems to be going great. My Doc. told me that I was exactly were I needed to be on everything including my weight gain (13 lbs total). Well, that just sounded really strange for me to say.

In the past few weeks/months everyone keeps asking have you felt the baby move yet. Well, the answer was not very much. All of a sudden our baby boy has become very active this past week. He now is moving around enough that John can feel him kick inside my belly. It is the coolest thing ever, I just start smiling and giggling every time it happens.

Baby Registry

On Sunday John and I went to Target to start working on our baby Registry. It was so much fun watching John with that scanner. He was like a little kid scanning all kinds of things. After the first 5 minutes in the store I decided to let him pick out most of the stuff, because he really examined everything to make sure we were picking out good quality stuff at a variety of prices for people to pick from. I’m so thankful to have such a great husband with pretty good taste.

Stressed

I’m feeling so stressed about everything that is going on right now. Baby Names, Selling our house, finding a new house, John getting a good job that has benefits, picking out baby stuff, Baby showers, etc.

The last thing I need if for someone from my office to stick their nose in my business and not be supportive. I can understand my Mom telling me like it is, but I really don’t care what this lady that works with me thinks. She begins to tell me that her husband worked 2 jobs and weekends to support the family and still works weekends to this day. That may be fine and dandy for her, but it’s not for John and me. I need John at home on the weekends so that he can be a good daddy to his son. I’ve gone through him working everyday of the week and weekends, his son does not deserve that. I have a good job and work a full time job, so that my husband does not have to work 2 jobs.

As for all the other things that are stressing me out, I know that God will not put anything in front of me that I can’t handle. My theory is that everything happens for a reason and only better things can be ahead.

Montgomery, AL- Legislators and Senators

The past 2 days I've been in Montgomery, Alabama for the Chamber's 2009 Montgomery Trip. We toured several buildings, had speakers, and then went over to the Alabama State House to observe our House of Representatives and Senators at work. I must say that this is my second trip to Montgomery in the past 3 weeks and I go again next Tuesday for my third trip down.

The first trip down I went with all the Tourism Industry people for "Tourism Rolls." We went down to hold up picket signs for 3 Tourism issues (Film, 7 day Sales, and school start date). After we held up the picket signs we went into the house gallery to watch the house at work. We lucked out and were able to see them pass the Film bill. This was my first time to see the the Gallery for a brief minute or two.

On this current trip with the chamber I was able to watch the house in action for a long time. After watching them it makes me a little bit uneasy about where my tax dollars are going. The house floor is like a beehive with people swarming around all over the place, talking on cell phones, and watching 1 Representative lock in votes for another. Can't that Representative lock in his own votes? I watched them pass a bill that would increase alcohol content in gourmet beers, the debate before the vote was ridiculous. Basically, the opposed rep. was Church bashing- I don't know what you do in your Church, but we don't do that in ours. They act like first graders! Just when I thought it could not get any worse we went upstairs to watch our Senators. All I can do is shake my head after that. One man was going to stop all local bills from going through because he could not get his bill on the list to be voted for. He also said, are you going to vote for my bill if I vote for yours? What kind of people do we running the State of Alabama.? Don't you fill good about your hard earned money at work? I DON'T!

Anyway, I go back to Montgomery next Tuesday for the annual Tourism Bash. It is a reception for Tourism Industry people to talk with our legislators and senators about the issues that we are facing. I hope it goes well and we have a large crowd of our elected officials. I believe I finally have enough knowledge on the issues at hand and how thing work that I can talk to our elected officials with no problem. You know like Children!
